Incidences related to PMIR Act

A few incidences have been reported regarding the Provincial directors sending letters to the private practices of our members forcing them to get registered in the private health sector regulatory council.

The decision taken by Dr. Padeniya way back in the year 2006 on this issue was not to get registered under this anti doctor act as it has obvious contradictions with the existing medical ordinance.

The problem has come up again since the SLMC who holds the authority to safeguard the medical ordinance has turned a blind eye on this issue.

If similar incidences occur, you are kindly requested to inform it to us via our office mail: office@gmoa.lk.

Please discuss this issue at your branch union level and be prepared with branch resolutions.
