The health secretary has issued a new circular dated 26-07-2013 instructing payment of DAT allowance to doctors and dental surgeons during their maternity leave as cabinet approval had been granted in 1996 for the payment of DAT allowance during maternity leave.
According to the new circular, the previous letter dated 12-07-2012 which instructed to withhold payment during maternity leave will be cancelled.
