The request of the GMOA was to issue the final year results of the 2009B batch of Nursing students and to appoint them immediately to the available vacancies in Government hospitals.
Our VOGs refrained from training them since they were just final year nursing students who had no experience as a nurse (according to the excising circular a 4 year post basic experience is required to get the Midwifery training)
The authorities were reluctant to do this due to the pressure of the nursing
trade unions. But this time they had to implement it in order to comply with the court order issued recently.
