All surgeries in Orthopaedic, ENT and OMF units of GH-Matara has been halted since 09/07/2013 due to malfunctioning air conditioner at the operating theatre. Already more than 100 surgeries has been postponed risking the lives of patients.
The hospital administration has failed to make necessary repairs during past 1 1/2 months. Repeated attempts to inform the hospital director regarding this situation failed because she was not available in the hospital. The responsibility of the disruption caused to patient care risking patient lives should be born by the inefficient administration of the director of GH – Matara.
