Today the branch unions of the Southern Province had a joint press conference at GH-Matara to condemn the activities of the 7 individuals and two trustees who are backing them. It was highlighted that the trustees of the GMOA have to comply with the General Committee decisions and can not function independently.
All branch unions of the Southern Province unanimously agreed to extend their fullest support to the Election Committee and the GMOA executive committee.
One branch secretary described how the previous GMOA president (prior to Dr Padeniya’s era) acted in an irresponsible manner during the Badagiriya incident.
