In commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), a series of sacred religious observances were held at the GMOA Office on 10th January 2026, marking a significant spiritual milestone in the Association’s centenary celebrations.
A solemn all-night Pirith Ceremony was conducted with the participation of EXCO and GC members, provincial and district coordinators, members from across the country, and invited dignitaries including political representatives. Further highlighting the significance of the occasion, the GMOA also successfully conducted a Sangagatha Dakshinawa almsgiving for 100 venerable Theros, symbolizing a century of dedicated service in healing the nation.

These religious observances were organized to invoke blessings for peace, health, and well-being, while fostering unity and spiritual strength among members. The events were attended by EXCO and GC members, provincial and district coordinators, and participants from across the island.
