In line with the centenary celebrations of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), a special Islamic religious observance was held on 12th February 2026 at the Mohideen Jummah Grand Mosque, marking another significant spiritual event in the Association’s 100 year journey of service.
The programme took place in Kalmunai, with the participation of members of the GMOA Executive Committee, who joined in prayers and religious activities seeking blessings for the wellbeing of the people and strength for medical professionals serving across the nation.

The event emphasized gratitude, reflection, and unity, aligning with the theme “A Century of Healing the Nation.” Special prayers were offered for peace, good health, and the continued dedication of doctors, recognizing their vital role in safeguarding the nation’s health over the past century.


This Islamic religious observance formed part of a broader series of multi faith events organized by the GMOA, highlighting its commitment not only to professional excellence but also to spiritual harmony and inclusivity.
The programme concluded with prayers and blessings for the entire country, reinforcing the Association’s enduring mission of service and compassion as it celebrates 100 years of healing the nation.
